The NZDA Te Awamutu Branch offers plenty of opportunities to shoot, hunt, learn, and socialise with fellow hunters. Our events include range days, HUNTS course, trophy competitions, club hunts, and social nights throughout the year.

Event dates, times, and locations may change at short notice, so be sure to check our Facebook page or this website regularly for the latest updates.

To join a club hunt, contact the organiser directly or reach out to the club for details.

SOCIAL NIGHT

MANAGEMENT OF DEER IN THE PUREORA AREA

with Dion Patterson

Dion will talk about their plans to work with NZDA clubs from the area, including the management of fly ins and improving access for ground-based hunting. He will also outline what information that we, as hunters on the ground, can supply them and how they might use it to help with the management program.
This is our chance to get on board with DOC and show we are capable of helping control deer numbers, which are too high at the moment.  We all know that high numbers will result in damage to the forest, as well as poor deer health. Skinny, malnourished deer are not good for eating and they are not going to grow good heads. Management is about balance, and if that is not right, we will see greater 1080 use, which I’m sure you don’t want. Come along and ask some questions!

Entry is $5 cash per person.

There will also be a fundraising raffle, with the prize winner drawn at the end of the night. Tickets are $2 each; or 3 for $5. Cash.
