The NZDA Te Awamutu Branch offers plenty of opportunities to shoot, hunt, learn, and socialise with fellow hunters. Our events include range days, HUNTS course, trophy competitions, club hunts, and social nights throughout the year.

Come along to shoot paper targets from three positions – prone, sitting and standing. Plus a novelty shoot in the standing position to test your rapid-fire skills.
All visitors are welcome to come and experience smallbore shooting in a relaxed social atmosphere. Bring your own rifle along and improve your shooting skills, or borrow a club rifle.
New shooters are encouraged to come along to practise their shooting skills in a safe and controlled environment, with plenty of support from experienced shooters in the club, willing to share tips and tricks.
Doors open at 7:15PM for a 7:30PM start.
Cost is $7 cash per person. This covers range hireage and 20 rounds.
Please note only standard or subsonic ammo can be used in the range.

For Events 1 & 2: Open to all members. No rests or slings. Two optional sighters, then balance of three, three counting shots for the other positions. Single loading only. No magazines. 19 shot maximum.
Event 3: Junior 100m Centrefire Shoot (with rest)
2/3 sighters. 10 counting shots. $2.50 target fee.
Event 4: Ladies Championship
Range 50m. .22 Rimfire with rest and magazines. Prone.
Two optional sighters non counting. 10 shots counting.
Open to female branch members; and branch members’ wives/partners.

HUNTS COURSE
Do you want to learn about hunting in New Zealand’s unique conditions, develop essential bushcraft, navigation and shooting skills to use in the outdoors?
Our Club is hosting a fun course to develop new skills and meet like-minded people who enjoy hunting and the outdoors.
The course runs from 12th February to 15th March.
This course is open to anyone 16 years and older.
You do not need to have any experience or hold a firearms licence.
